BREAKING NEWS: Angel Reese WRONGLY slipped on air at WNBA press conference! “ACCUENTLY” ADMITTED her rac!st h@te statements towards Caitlin Clark fans were WRONG!

The WNBA has closed its investigation into allegations of rac!al $lurs directed at Chicago Sky star Angel Reese during a May 17 game against the Indiana Fever. The league announced Tuesday that it found no evidence to support the claims.

“Based on information gathered to date, including from fans, team and arena personnel involved, as well as a review of audio and video of the game, we have not been able to corroborate the allegations,” the WNBA said in its official statement.

The investigation was launched after social media posts alleged that Reese and possibly other Sky players were subjected to rac!al $lurs during a 93–58 loss to the Fever, led by rookie Caitlin Clark.

The Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever both released statements acknowledging and supporting the WNBA’s investigation. “We appreciate the swift action by the league and the Indiana Fever to take this matter seriously and investigate,” Adam Fox, CEO and president of the Chicago Sky, said in a statement. “This process demonstrates the league’s strong stance on preventing hate at all WNBA games and events, and we will continue to support those efforts.”

Reese was asked earlier this month if she would provide specific details to assist in the investigation, but she declined to elaborate. “That’s not a question for me alone,” she told reporters, adding that she has broad support across the league. “Obviously, there’s no place for that in this league,” she stressed. “I think the WNBA and our team and our organization have done a great job of supporting me. … Through this whole process, if it can happen to me, it can happen to anybody.”

In a later press conference before the game against the Phoenix Mercury, Reese opted not to discuss the subject: “I’m focused on the game today,” she said. Her coach, Tyler Marsh, added:

“We appreciate the ongoing investigation and we hope that the league continues to take the necessary steps to ensure a safe environment for everyone, including all the players. But tonight, the focus is on the game.”

Caitlin Clark, who was involved in an in-game clash with Reese in the same game and was assessed a flagrant-1 foul, settled the charges earlier this month. She told reporters that she did not hear any rac!st comments:

“It was very loud here, and even though I didn’t hear anything, I think that’s why they did the investigation. That doesn’t mean nothing happened, so I’m going to trust the league’s investigation and I’m sure they’ll do the right thing.”

“There’s no place for that in our game, there’s no place for that in society. We want everyone who comes to our arena, whether they’re players or fans, to have a great experience,” she added, in a separate interview about the alleged fan comments during Saturday’s game.

The rivalry between Clark and Reese, which dates back to their college days, has been a flashpoint in the WNBA and a subject of public controversy, sometimes with rac!al and gender over:tones. Reese is black and Clark is white, and their relationship has sparked heated discussions and online abuse.

The Indiana Fever and Pacers Sports & Entertainment also issued statements reaffirming their zero-tolerance policy on hate speech.

“We appreciate the swift and thorough process the WNBA took to investigate these allegations, which were unsubstantiated,” said Mel Raines, CEO of Pacers Sports & Entertainment. “At Gainbridge Fieldhouse, we are committed to providing the best basketball experience possible for our players and fans, where hate speech has absolutely no place. Indiana is home to some of the greatest fans in the world, and we look forward to an exciting season of Fever basketball.”

The WNBPA, which has previously supported the investigation, did not immediately respond to a request for comment following the league’s findings.
